Voters say Democrats are more interested in undermining Trump than getting at the truth

A new round of Monmouth University polls ask voters how they feel about House Democrats launching investigations into President Trump.

Almost two weeks ago we switched to a new commenting system because of all the problems we were having with Disqus comments disappearing and reappearing on posts.

I know the first week was a bit of a rough ride, but I’ve been pleasantly surprised at all the people who have signed up to comment on the new system and how well it’s worked since we got most of the buggers out.

And honestly, I’m pretty content to stick with it for the long run. For one, it gives me a ton of control over both the system itself and the user accounts. If your account won’t let you login I can fix it for you and fast! I love that.

Regardless of how much I love it, I do want your input as well to make sure I’m reading you all correctly.

I know that some of you still prefer Disqus, but we’re not going back to it. I’m done with Disqus. Sorry to be so emphatic about it, but I just want you to know where I stand.

That said, I’m not opposed to the idea of checking out other systems if this one isn’t going to work out. As I said I think it’s pretty good, but I do want to get a feel for what you all think.

NBC Washington Correspondent Yamiche Alcindor and former U.S. Attorney Barbara McQuade join Andrea Mitchell to discuss key challenges facing the January 6 Committee ahead of their primetime hearings this week: getting a "distracted nation" to pay attention and understand what's at stake. “I think the biggest challenge for lawmakers here, as they talk about these sort of huge ideas of American democracy and sort of the experiment that we're all living in, benefiting from, possibly being brought to his knees, is whether or not they can make people care,” says Alcindor. “The American public has been groomed to expect high value quick entertainment,” says McQuade. "I think putting together a polished show can be very important."
