Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez says 'Capitalism is irredeemable'

During her talk, which reportedly drew the largest crowds at the popular Austin festival, Ocasio-Cortez slammed capitalism.
"Capitalism is an ideology of capital — the most important thing is the concentration of capital and to seek and maximize profit,” Ocasio-Cortez said. "And that comes at any cost to people and to the environment, she said, according to Bloomberg News, “so to me capitalism is irredeemable."
Although the self-described Democratic socialist stopped short of saying capitalism should be scrapped altogether, she explained that "we're reckoning with the consequences of putting profit above everything else in society. And what that means is people can't afford to live. For me, it's a question of priorities and right now I don't think our model is sustainable."

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez just keeps getting stronger by saying the abjectly stupid crap that Democrats actually believe but have been too shy to admit in public.

For instance, this idiocy about capitalism:
“Capitalism is an ideology of capital — the most important thing is the concentration of capital and to seek and maximize profit,” she said during an interview at the South by Southwest conference in Austin, Texas, according to Bloomberg News.
“To me, capitalism is irredeemable,” she added, arguing that capitalism’s goals come at a cost to people and the environment, Bloomberg reported.
The congresswoman, who has described herself as a democratic socialist, added during her interview that “we should be scared.”
“Just as there’s all this fearmongering that government is going to take over every corporation and government is going to take over every business or every form of production, we should be scared right now because corporations have taken over our government,” she said.
Shockingly and unbelievably stupid. Even some in the Democratic party are pushing back against this socialist extremism now because it’s gotten so bad. AND she has a degree in economics!!! I mean, look there are plenty of things to criticize about what form of capitalism is the best, but to just idiotically opine that it is “unredeemable” is… deplorable.

She was at SXSW and got the endorsement of fake climate scientist guy Bill Nye, because nothing says credibility like a wannabe-scientist kid entertainer:
Maybe he helped her recreate the terrible explosion/tragedy of the Challenger launch?
AND she said that people should be happy when robots replace them because the government will take care of them because there are now “infinite” resources.
She is a complete idiot. What is frightening is that so many think she’s brilliant. Countless morons swallow and regurgitate her inane platitudes because our society brain-washes them with left-wing propaganda. It’s gonna be rough sailing for the country ahead.
Well now that I’ve depressed myself I’m gonna go get a stiff drink. Hope you all had a great weekend!!

  1. Seven years after "earning" her International Relations degree (with an Economics minor) from the diploma mill known as Boston "University", AOC was still unsuccessful in a capitalist society working as a bartender.

Just because she is not talented enough to succeed in a capitalist society she wants all Americans to suffer the guaranteed fate of equal poverty by changing America to a socialist society.

Keep America great and vote socialists out of Congress.

  2. Karl Marx is like so 19th century. Like can’t a “progressive” do better than that. If this is the stuff BU teaches these days, run the other direction as fast as you can.

“In fact Socialism is not in the least what it pretends to be. It is not the pioneer of a better and finer world, but the spoiler of what thousands of years of civilization have created. It does not build; it destroys. For destruction is the essence of it. It produces nothing, it only consumes what the social order based on private ownership of the means of production has created. Since a socialist order of society cannot exist, unless it be as a fragment of Socialism within an economic order resting otherwise in private property, each step leading towards Socialism must exhaust itself in the destruction of what already exists.”

NBC Washington Correspondent Yamiche Alcindor and former U.S. Attorney Barbara McQuade join Andrea Mitchell to discuss key challenges facing the January 6 Committee ahead of their primetime hearings this week: getting a "distracted nation" to pay attention and understand what's at stake. “I think the biggest challenge for lawmakers here, as they talk about these sort of huge ideas of American democracy and sort of the experiment that we're all living in, benefiting from, possibly being brought to his knees, is whether or not they can make people care,” says Alcindor. “The American public has been groomed to expect high value quick entertainment,” says McQuade. "I think putting together a polished show can be very important."
