Morning Mika attacks Kirstjen Nielsen over Trump border policies

Mika Brzezinski accused Nielsen of overseeing a "shameful" situation and of becoming "the face of the Trump administration’s abuse of children at the border."
“When she says they don’t use cages, look at these pictures. She’s defying the obvious in the most Trump-like way,” Brzezinski said.

“The situation is shameful, and it just seems like she lacks the ability to care about the border crisis in a real way…I’m just praying public pressure will force her to change course, maybe have her do her best and save these children from further heartbreak and suffering because that is what’s happening and that’s not who we are.”
The host added: “She’s become the face of the Trump administration’s abuse of children at the border.”
The attack came after Nielsen was caught in a series of heated exchanges with House lawmakers Wednesday while being questioned over family separations at the border, with one Democrat accusing her of having “no feeling, no compassion.”

  1. "prosecute all adults who were referred for prosecution"

How is being a criminal on the border any different than someone robbing a bank? If you rob a bank, you don't get to be housed with your kids! And, at least in this country, we don't house children with ANY criminals, PERIOD! So yes, children will be housed separately from adults that commit crimes.

Here's an amazing idea! If you don't want to be separated from your kids, don't commit a crime while you have your kids with you! Let's not forget about the kids just "dropped off" at the border by their loving parents. smdh.........

NBC Washington Correspondent Yamiche Alcindor and former U.S. Attorney Barbara McQuade join Andrea Mitchell to discuss key challenges facing the January 6 Committee ahead of their primetime hearings this week: getting a "distracted nation" to pay attention and understand what's at stake. “I think the biggest challenge for lawmakers here, as they talk about these sort of huge ideas of American democracy and sort of the experiment that we're all living in, benefiting from, possibly being brought to his knees, is whether or not they can make people care,” says Alcindor. “The American public has been groomed to expect high value quick entertainment,” says McQuade. "I think putting together a polished show can be very important."
