President Trump viciously attacks Peter Alexander in extended rant after being asked for message to Americans worried about coronavirus

Image
President Trump's  re-election campaign seemed to try and pre-empt any questions from NBC reporter Peter Alexander, who received intense criticism from the president during the prior day's  coronavirus  briefing. "NBC's Peter Alexander is Dishonest. The Full Video Proves It," an email headline from the campaign read on Saturday. The email, which came just before Saturday's briefing, claimed Alexander was spewing "pure, dishonest garbage," when he said his question was merely intended as an opportunity for Trump to reassure Americans. The spat started when Alexander asked Trump if his “impulse to put a positive spin on things” could be giving Americans a “false sense of hope” amid the pandemic. The president explained he had a “good feeling” about possible solutions the FDA is working on. “Let’s see what happens, we have nothing to lose,” Trump said. Alexander interrupted the next reporter who was called on, shouting, “What do you say to Amer

Rachel Maddow tells Warren her 2020 exit is 'crushing,' a 'death knell' for a future female POTUS

MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow talked to Elizabeth Warren after she dropped out of the 2020 race, sharing her thoughts on frontrunners Bernie Sanders and Joe Biden, whether she’d run for vice president, and how she takes ownership of hurting Mike Bloomberg’s 2020 chances. Warren talked about inspiring the next generations of women in government service. Trump coronavirus incompetence 'like its own natural disaster', Senator Elizabeth Warren talks with Rachel Maddow about the global factors that are undermining the U.S. economy as the damage from the spread of the coronavirus collides with the incompetence of the Trump administration. Senator Elizabeth Warren talks with Rachel Maddow about how her run for president changed her, particularly in the way it put her in personal contact with American families that are struggling and needing a government that works for them. At the end of the day the numbers just weren't there,  Senator Elizabeth Warren talks with Rachel Maddow ab

A federal judge Monday granted a request from conservative watchdog group Judicial Watch to have former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton sit for a sworn deposition to answer questions about her use of a private email server to conduct government business. Was komisch ist, ist, dass der Richter erkannt hat, dass Hillarys frühere Antworten auf Fragen dazu schrecklich waren: Clinton has argued that she has already answered questions about this and should not have to do so again, but D.C. District Court Judge Royce C. Lamberth said in his ruling that her past responses left much to be desired. “As extensive as the existing record is, it does not sufficiently explain Secretary Clinton’s state of mind when she decided it would be an acceptable practice to set up and use a private

Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), according to a 55-page ruling issued Sunday by Judge Randolph Moss of the U.S. District Court in Washington, D.C. Moss, an Obama-appointed judge, also found that a directive launched under Cuccinelli, which hastens screening time for asylum seekers, should also be voided. Moss on Sunday ruled that Cuccinelli’s appointment violated the Federal Vacancies Reform Act of 1998, finding that he was not actually eligible to become USCIS director because the position he initially assumed — the principal deputy — was not a “first assistant” job under the auspices of the 1998 law. “On the merits, the Court concludes tha

Michael Moore defends Sanders: ‘If we vote on fear, we will lose to Donald Trump’

Image
Michael Moore , acclaimed filmmaker and campaign surrogate for Bernie Sanders, joins MSNBC’s Ari Melber to discuss the 2020 election. Moore criticizes Mayor Pete Buttigieg and Senator Amy Klobuchar for dropping out of the presidential race ahead of Super Tuesday to endorse VP Joe Biden, arguing “the coalescing” of the candidates “is clearly obviously intended to try and stop Bernie's momentum” and not about who “can stop” President “Donald Trump” from reelection. Moore argues the Democratic establishment is “worried about Bernie Sanders policies.” When pressed on Biden’s surge in delegates won after South Carolina, Moore argues “South Carolina is not representative of the United States.” Multiple  MSNBC  personalities took Sen.  Bernie Sanders  to task for his repeated attacks on the political "establishment." MSNBC anchor Nicolle Wallace went on a rant during the network's Super Tuesday coverage on Sanders' characterization of former Vice President  J

Pete Buttigieg, the former small-city Indiana mayor and first openly gay major presidential candidate, has decided to quit the Democratic race

The first openly gay major presidential candidate, Mr. Buttigieg rose to the primary’s top tier, but was unable to build a broad coalition of voters, and lost badly in South Carolina Saturday.  Pete Buttigieg  told supporters he's ending his presidential campaign on Sunday, campaign sources confirmed to ANT , in an abrupt and surprising pullout that further narrows the field of Democrats less than a month after he declared victory in the contested Iowa caucuses. Buttigieg had been scheduled to headline a rally in Dallas on Sunday night. The charter plane has been rerouted to South Bend, Ind., where Buttigieg will announce that he is dropping out, ANT has learned. Buttigieg's withdrawal comes just days before 14 states are set to head to the polls on Super Tuesday, where one-third of all delegates for the nomination will be at stake. His exit likely will harm frontrunner Bernie Sanders by providing a coalescing boost to more moderate candidates, as Buttigieg had gone
