Secretary of Energy Rick Perry spoke with Brian Kilmeade about the Green New Deal, calling the people behind it, "A bunch of kids who've never been on the playground before they've never even been on the field of play before they're sitting on the sidelines." Perry says their goal of zero emissions in 10 years at a cost of 90 trillion dollars is 'fantasy.' Perry also pushed back on democrats who are against nuclear energy, he said America is at a crossroads because regulations on nuclear energy puts America at a disadvantage, not only with civil nuclear energy, but can lead to America losing the intellectual capital to keep America where it needs to be in a nuclear weapons arena.

Perry also discussed the importance of President Trump's directive to prioritize research and development of Artificial Intelligence. Perry explained, "This is a very serious and a very real race, but we're holding our own and I expect America to win the race ultimately, but it's going to require substantial resources and focus."

Perry goes on to point out how America has been drastically reducing emissions in the last 20 years and how we should be celebrated by the left:
The good news is America's reducing emissions... America's leading the world in emissions! Texas is now producing more renewable energy percentage-wise than the European Union. We oughta be getting celebrated, instead of these cockamamie ideas that are coming out of left field. It seems like a bunch of kids that are [saying] 'I'm gonna one up ya and come up with even a crazier idea!'"
He goes on to explain why the US needs to continue down the road of civil nuclear energy, the cleanest energy of all, which oddly enough Democrats hate.

No kidding! I grew up in Northern CA but moved to Southern CA in the early 70’s. I remember the smog was so bad you never saw a blue sky. Then cars were required to use catalytic converters and we were soon required to have them smog checked every few years. We grumbled but wasn’t that big a deal, and it was worth it because the air cleaned up fairly quickly. I don’t think kids today even know what the word smog means.
So yes, we all want clean air and clean water, and we don’t mind making the small adjustments necessary to make that happen. What AOC et al doesn’t understand is panic leading to great big upheavals are not necessary to fix problems as they arise.
Yes indeed, we ought to be celebrated.
