Trump accuses Jim Acosta of asking a 'very political question' at Rose Garden news conference

“You are presenting information about what’s happening at the border, calling it an invasion, talking about women with duct tape over their mouths and so on, and yet there is a lot of reporting out there, a lot of crime data out there ... that shows border crossings at a near record low,” Acosta said.

Trump fired back, “That’s because of us,” as the CNN reporter attempted to talk over the president.
“Excuse me,” Trump intervened. “It’s still massive numbers of crossings.”
Watch below:

Acosta – who has emerged as a hero among progressives for attacking Trump and members of his administration when they’re available to the press – then said stats show “undocumented immigrants committing crime at lower levels than native-born Americans.”
Trump rebuked Acosta by asking, “You don’t really believe that stats, do you?”
As Acosta tried to keep talking, Trump repeated himself.
“Do you really believe that stat? Take a look at our federal prisons,” Trump said as he gestured Acosta to hurry up with his longwinded question.
“What do you say to critics who say that you are creating a national emergency? That you’re concocting a national emergency here to get your wall,” Acosta said.
Trump pointed to angel moms in attendance, asking them for their thoughts.
“You think I’m creating something? Ask these incredible women who lost their daughters and their sons,” Trump said. “OK, Because your question is a very political question because you have an agenda. You’re CNN. You’re fake news.”
Trump told Acosta the statistics he provided were “wrong” and told him to take a look at the federal prison population for proof.
“See how many of them,percentage-wise, are illegal aliens,” Trump said. “Just see, go ahead and see. It’s a fake question.”
I don’t think Trump takes the best argument here about whether or not illegal aliens commit less crimes than citizens – the much stronger argument is to say that all of those crimes can be prevented if we simply deport illegals. The rate of criminality doesn’t matter when they simply don’t belong in the U.S.
But Acosta has already shown himself to be an activist for the left, and not really a journalist with fair questions.

  1. The greatest threat facing our nation is not an outside enemy like China or Russia -- it is the enemy within, it is the "news" or more accurately the propaganda media (CNN/MSNBC/etc).

A critically thinking person is immunized against them, the problem is that there are so many people (mostly Democrats) that are incapable of critical thought.

  2. I’m ex-military and think that the government being shutdown was a great way to highlight the fact that a few people going without pay for awhile is nothing compared to the people murdered annually by illegals. The drug deaths alone are many many thousands.
Dems encourage illegals into America illegally with the promise of-

    Sanctuary cities
    Free healthcare
    Benefits
Fast-track to citizenship if your baby is born in America
    Protection from ICE agents
    Free housing (taxpayer funded)
    Licenses
    Catch and release program

New York is now offering free healthcare to illegals.

Newsom has said ANYONE wanting to come to California will be welcomed with open arms.

Brown brought in reduced prison sentences so they can’t be deported for the federal law that states anyone being incarcerated for 12 months or more is to be deported, Brown made the sentences smaller.

The deaths of people like the police officer recently murdered, the colts linebacker or the Angel family that had their son tortured and then set on fire demand this problem to be fixed. Dems will try and say that Americans kill Americans so why is it not ok if the illegals we encourage into America kill as well? That is their twisted justification for people that are illegally in the country murdering US citizens.

    MAGA!!

"I think putting together a polished show can be very important."
