BREAKING: Elizabeth Warren apologizes for calling herself Native American: “Tribes -- and only tribes -- determine tribal citizenship.”

On Tuesday, Warren's claims took a major hit: The Washington Post reported on a Texas bar registration card from 1986 in which, clearly and apparently in her own hand, the Massachusetts Democrat had written "American Indian" when asked to identify her race.
Neither Warren nor her office denied either the authenticity of the document nor that it was the senator's signature on it. "I can't go back," Warren told the Post in an interview Tuesday. "But I am sorry for furthering confusion on tribal sovereignty and tribal citizenship and harm that resulted."
I am so glad that Big Chief Elizabeth Warren is finally being forced to confront the fact that she claimed to be an American Indian, when she’s denied it for years.
Here she is apologizing again after her Texas Bar form was revealed yesterday:

Sen. Elizabeth Warren: 'I am not a tribal citizen'

Sen. Elizabeth Warren publicly apologized Wednesday for any "harm caused" by her past claims of Native American ancestry, and answers a question from MSNBC's Garrett Haake about why she listed herself as an American Indian on a Texas Bar application.

A reporter actually asked her why she listed herself that way, and she claimed that’s what she always believed from her family:

Democratic Sen. Elizabeth Warren apologizes for calling herself “American Indian”: “There really is an important distinction of tribal citizenship. I am not a member of the tribe and I have apologized for not being more sensitive to that distinction”
Even if Warren really believed she was 1/32nd Cherokee Indian growing up, which she clearly wasn’t, why would she list that for her race? Doesn’t 1/32nd equate to like 3%, and that’s what she goes with? Yeah I’m not buying it.

This story is going to haunt her throughout her run for president. Right now her Democrat competitors, Booker and Harris, aren’t criticizing her for it at all. But let things heat up into next year, if Warren lasts that long, and I guarantee they will.

"I think putting together a polished show can be very important."
