Ex-Trump Advisor ha venduto titoli legati all'acciaio prima di POTUS ha annunciato le tariffe


Giorni prima che il presidente Trump annunciò le sue proposte di tariffe in acciaio, l'ex consigliere di Trump Carl Icahn ha venduto 31,3 milioni di dollari di azioni in una società che fa molto affidamento sull'acciaio.

Secondo i documenti SEC segnalati da ThinkProgress, Icahn ha iniziato a vendere le sue scorte in Manitowoc Company Inc. tra il 12 febbraio e il 22 febbraio. Manitowoc, essendo un "produttore globale di gru e soluzioni di sollevamento", è naturalmente un grande consumatore di acciaio.

Trump ha annunciato di voler schiaffeggiare una tariffa del 25% sull'acciaio importato il 1 ° marzo.

Le aziende manifatturiere degli Stati Uniti hanno visto le loro azioni crollare dopo l'annuncio di POTUS, tra cui Manitowoc. La società di gru è diminuita del 6 percento.

Le registrazioni mostrano che fino al 12 febbraio di quest'anno, Icahn non aveva negoziato attivamente le sue scorte in Manitowoc da gennaio 2015.
